How You Can Help | Volunteer Opportunities

Here is a list of ways you can get involved:

Office Help:

• Data Entry

• Regular hours to help as needed

• Office organizing

• Be in charge of/help organize tabling supplies

• Minute-takers at committee meetings

Membership:

• Join the membership committee to plan the campaign

• Select a certain segment that you will reach out to

• Contact key businesses

• Assist with renewal follow-up and membership feedback

Events & Tabling

• Coordinating presence at fairs, expos, awards dinners, movie night, etc.

• Be a volunteer at tabling opportunities

• Help organize special events

PR and Outreach:

• Newsletter – develop content for SSC newsletter

• Advertising – work with vendors to develop collaborative advertising opportunities

Website:

• Develop content, provide updates for the SSC website

• Media Outreach – newspapers, press releases, etc

• Case studies – interview solar customers on their process and satisfaction – for web site and newsletters

Advocacy:

• Researching legislation that affects our industry;

• Outreach to SSC members and the general public to rally support

• Writing articles for web site and newsletter about current issues

Fundraising:

• Organize an event

• Staff fundraising events

• Approach potential business sponsors

• Solicit in-kind donations

Committees:

• Installer Committee assistance

• Other committees/areas of focus: Building Codes; Policy, Incentive and Finance; Mapping & Data Collection; Green Jobs & Training; Energy Efficiency; Solar Thermal; Marketing & Outreach
